One thing that’s come in handy along my journey is magazine subscriptions. Family and friends have gifted me subscriptions and pass along good ones they come across. I use them for inspiration and to stay current in this whirlwind of a fashion industry.
Yesterday my February issue of Vogue arrived with the cover story “Choose Your Spring Style: 73 Great Looks, from Bohemian Chic to Boy Shirts”. Inside, I flipped through photos of models in the upcoming spring trend of bold menswear inspired button-up shirts. From polka dots, to two toned tops, to checkered patterns. Very clean crisp looks that could be worn in a casual setting or as work wear with some flare.
The problem was, none of those models looked like me. Their shirts were buttoned up nicely with no gaping hole between buttons and no tug-of-war pull from their boobs. Button-ups are typically a nightmare for me, but I decided to take on the challenge to find some so that we ‘big on top’ ladies aren’t left out in the rain this spring. Don’t fret! I found some options for us!
This first trio made its way to my wish list immediately. I found them in my InStyle Magazine and online at their Shop InStyle Essentials website. A white collar shirt is an essential in any wardrobe. The Perfect White Shirt collection features three styles of white shirts designed and sized according to your bra measurements! The classic button-front, the weekend tunic, and the bow blouse each $59.99 or all 3 for $140. The TrioFit technology allows the bust and waist to be sized independently. 30 sizes to choose from, 32B to 40H!
As for the bold patterned button-up shirts, see below for the ones I found similar to those featured in Vogue, but in MY size. Also, enjoy a 30% off discount on the ones from Lane Bryant using code SPRINGLB.
